Uniform Policy

UNIFORM POLICY, Expectations and DRESS DOWN DAYS INFO:

Scholars are required to wear beige/tan/navy blue or gray pants or skirts that are at least knee length with a solid white, gold or navy blue, non-transparent polo/oxford shirt. Pants and skirts must be worn at the waist with a cloth belt. Ties are required for all scholars, preferably in gold or blue. All scholars should wear navy blue blazer/cardigan/quarter zip or school sweatshirt without hoodies by September 20, 2022.  If scholars cannot afford a blazer/cardigan, the parent/guardian must privately meet with the principal to discuss this matter. Additionally, scholars may wear any color pair of sneakers or boots, but black is preferred. Under no circumstances can scholars wear open-toed sandals, crocs or heels.

Scholars cannot wear tights instead of pants nor can they wear jeans even if they are the school uniform colors.  Scholars are not permitted to wear headgear, (Religious/cultural purpose only – solid black/blue color) Headbands may be blue/black ONLY.

All scholars must wear a solid colored mask with no gaiters. If you have a health condition and are unable to wear a mask, please see Nurse Felder and Principal Teli-Johnson

FOR SAFETY PURPOSE, SCHOLARS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR HOODIES NOR OUTERWEAR IN SCHOOL

DRESS DOWN DAYS INFO:

On the day of dress down student may dress down using information provided in the school/advisory/google classroom. For example, if instruction read “Students and staff can dress down in gray/black shirt with jeans, but no graphics or rips hole.” Then, student must follow the direction, if they participate in “dress down.”

Another example is: If instruction read “All students will be in a specific type of uniform on particular day.  Specifically, all students will wear either the traditional school uniform complete with ties, shirts, khakis, and blazers or the full Motivation High School gym uniform ( Motivation T-shirt and Motivation Sweat pants ONLY – NO SHORTS) due to the Winter Olympic celebration. Again, student must read/listen and follow this if they participate in “Dress Down.”
